Cheatings at Furl.net

Furl (from File Uniform Resource Locators) is a free social bookmarking website that allows members to store searchable copies of webpages and share them with others. Every member receives 5 gigabytes of storage space.

When I was surfing the site this evening, I noticed something odd. An off topic story stood at top. I was tempted to checkout who were those 36 members that furled that story. I was surprised to see the result. Here are the screenshots:

Look at the top post "Anabolic Steroids and...". Furl says it was furled by 36 members. Look at the next picture:

Look at the consecutive nature of the IDs, m37575250,m37575249,m37575248...it goes till m37575214..

It absolutely looks like an artificially inflated story. The owner or anybody who is interested in promoting the site could have easily done it. It looks like the Furl system doesn't check for repeat IP pinging (how silly!!)

These types of misuses kill the Social Bookmarking Concept.
